nslogo_bw_med.gifBeen there done that? Are you willing to share your experience as a Scouter with others? Or are you willing to help with some of the many "to dos" it takes to put on some of our training events? If you are, the North Shore training team has opportunities in several areas to assist with training.

We are actively seeking Scouters with experience in the following roles to assist us in delivering training to our North Shore leaders:

  • Pack Trainers
  • Tiger, Wolf/Bear, Webelos Den leaders (at least one year experience)
  • Cubmasters or Assistant Cubmasters (at least one year experience in this role plus previous den leader experience)
  • Pack Committee Chairs (at least one year chair experience plus one year in another Cub Scouting adult role)
  • Scoutmasters/Assistant Scoutmasters (at least two years experience in this role)
  • Troop Committee Chairs (at least one year experience in this role plus one year in another Boy Scouting adult role)
  • Scouters with Varsity program experience (any level of experience)
  • Venturing Advisors or Assistant Advisors (at least one year experience)
  • Scouters with specific expertise in specialized areas such as map and compass, first aid, or other outdoors skills.
  • Leave No Trace trainers (or a willingness to become a qualified LNT trainer)

We are also looking for assistance with the following:

  • Training course registration/paperwork
  • Maintaining records of North Shore Scouter training knot awards
  • Serving in a quartermaster role for training events
  • Putting together "training kits" for use by our training teams

Becoming a trainer requires the following commitments:

  • ...becoming fully conversant with the training material being delivered
  • ...attending trainer orientation sessions as appropriate
  • ...delivering the best possible training experience to our customers (our Scouters)

The time commitment for trainers varies. Some trainers help out occasionally, perhaps once or twice a year. Others more frequently. Some trainers specialize in certain areas and others are more "generalists". Some are active members of the District Training Committee. The level of commitment you make to training is up to you.

If you feel you could lend a hand to the North Shore training staff in any of the above capacities, contact This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
