New Leader Essentials (for all adult leaders)

and

Cub Scout Leader Specific Training

Training for All New Adult Cub Scout Volunteers
For Tiger, Cub Scout, & Webelos Den Leaders, Cubmasters, Assistants and all Committee Members

North Shore will be conducting both New Leader Essentials and Cub Scout Leader Specific training on March 1st.

About the Training

New Leader Essentials (NLE) is an introductory course for all new leaders. This course does not need to be repeated when changing positions in future years while in Scouting. We will hold NLE in the morning session. All Cub Scout, Boy Scout, Varsity, and Venture leaders who need to complete NLE are invited to attend. (We will be holding Boy Scout Leader Specific Training later in the Spring and NLE is a prerequisite.)

In the afternoon session we will be providing Cub Scout Leader Specific (CSLS) training, which is for all Cub Scout leadership positions and including Tiger, Wolf, Bear, Webelos Den Leaders/Assistant Den Leaders, Cubmasters/Assistant Cubmasters and Committee Members. Each Cub Scout leader completes the specific course for his or her own position in the program. If you have taken on or will be taking on a different responsibility in your Pack, this is an opportunity to become trained in your new role!

The breakout sessions you can select include: Tiger Cub Den Leaders; Cub Scout Den Leaders and Assistants, Webelos Den Leaders and Assistants, Cubmaster/Assistant Cubmaster, and Pack Committee. This training helps provide skills and knowledge from experienced leaders who can help you save time and effort in your position as well as to help keep your Pack program a lively, active and fun experience.

If you're already trained for your current position, consider attending a CSLS session to become cross-trained for a different position. It will give you provide perspective on the roles other leaders perform!
