 Come join our annual Scouting celebration to recognize our leaders across North Shore district!
You may recall that we asked you to set aside the evening of Friday, January 9 for a special Scouting celebration, with details to follow. We now have those details to share with you, and look forward to your joining with Scout leaders from across North Shore District –
including Cedar Park, Leander, Steiner Ranch and Lago Vista areas to celebrate a great 2008 Scouting year. And we'll also will be recognizing many exceptional Scouters, including leaders nominated as "stars" by their own units!
The Annual North Shore District Recognition Dinner will be held at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, Parish Activity Center (map of church grounds ). We'll gather starting at 6:30PM and dinner will be at 7:00PM followed by our recognition program. Cost will be $15 for adults and $10
for Scouts, payable at the door (but please take a moment to pre-register so we can take a headcount). Dinner will be Italian food
from one of Austin’s leading restaurants.
District recognition for those who have helped Scouting will
include special awards for deserving leaders in packs, troops, and crews. (For more information on some of the awards to be presented, please look at our district awards page.) We'll also have special recognition for our North Shore Eagle Scouts.
Don’t miss out on this opportunity to share a
special evening with other Scout leaders and parents to honor those who have
helped share Scouting with so many young people.
Be sure to follow these critical steps:
- Mark
your calendar for January 9 and register online to reserve your
space. Please be prepared to pay at
the door with cash or check only. (Note any special dietary needs you
have.)
- Nominate one leader from your unit for a Northern Star Award (Please use the online nomination form ). Nominations must be received by
January 4 to be considered.
- Then,
make sure that other leaders, scouts and parents from your unit register
to attend the banquet! Don't forget that spouses and Scouts are invited as well (especially our 2008 Eagle Scout recipients). And of course, make sure your your leader being honored with this
special award attends!
